Hi, I’m Lauren.

I use communications for good. This isn’t a tagline; it’s a filter for the organisations I choose to work with. I have 15 years’ experience in marketing and communications, across local government, corporate and international contexts.

Building a modern communications function for a global investment brand

When I joined Ingka Investments, the communications function was limited. I was instrumental in building it up – overhauling the internal and external websites, creating and executing content plans, developing messaging frameworks, setting up performance reporting for management, and taking ownership of both the Ingka Investments LinkedIn page and the Managing Director’s personal presence. The main challenge was bringing unity to six distinct investment portfolios to create coherence from complexity.

Alongside the communications work, I advised People & Culture on DEI strategy and program design, facilitated gender equality workshops, and co-led the development of Ingka Investments’ first employee resource group for diversity and inclusion. More recently, I’ve developed AI workflows in Claude – including agents that prepare LinkedIn posts in brand and spokespeople tone of voice, and query complex investment documentation to answer questions quickly.

  • +111% LinkedIn follower growth (6% CTR, 9% engagement)
  • 46→81% Website engagement
  • 18→86% Intranet engagement
  • +40% Managing Director’s LinkedIn follower growth

What I bring

Strategic communications

Building communications functions from the ground up: internal and external communications, content plans, messaging frameworks, brand strategy, and performance reporting. Bringing coherence to complex topics and structure to teams that need it.

End-to-end campaigns

From brief to performance reporting, across owned, earned, and paid channels – with measurement built in at every stage. Experienced leading internal teams and managing agency relationships, with a hands-on approach to delivery.

DEI strategy & program design

Policy development, frameworks, audits, community consultation, and employee resource groups. DEI is an intentional thread through my career, informed by lived experience and a long-term commitment to the work.

AI-powered workflows

Custom agents for content production in brand and spokespeople tone of voice, document querying, and internal efficiency tools. AI applied to improve workflows and elevate communications output, not replace them.

About

With 15 years' experience in marketing and communications, I've worked across local government, corporate and international contexts. I thrive on making the complex simple, running multi-channel campaigns, using data to inform strategy and developing people-first communications.

That's taken me from Perth to Amsterdam, through road safety campaigns and LGBTQIA+ policy, investment communications and AI-powered content workflows.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) is an intentional thread through my career, one I've pursued deliberately across three organisations and two countries.

Get to know me

  • I love to read, averaging around 40 books a year.
  • I’m always picking up new hobbies, including beginner dance classes, skateboarding, and most recently, teaching myself to DJ.
  • I’m learning Dutch and French.
  • I moved to Amsterdam for adventure. I had no job, no contacts, but ended up having the best four years of my life.
  • I’ve given away a free car not once, but twice (take that Oprah!). You can see me do it here and here.
